Shipping has begun!

Hello backers! 

Quick update letting y'all know that shipping has officially started! I sent out about 60 decks/packages yesterday that I packed and signed over the weekend. Please note: I am not Amazon. I am only one person with a 9-5 day job and lots of friends/family/dog obligations, so all 300+ decks aren't going to go out over night. However, I think I should be able to finish the bulk of shipping in the next  2-3 weeks. My goal is still to try and finish shipping by the end of May, but we'll see!  

If you got a signed/numbered deck + guidebook & got a pest expansion pack as well, the expansion will be inside the box. I'm signing/numbering the back of the box. I only printed 500 decks, and that's all that will ever BE printed as far as I know, so decks are numbered 1/500, 2/500, etc. 

If you got a copy of the deck + guidebook that is not signed/numbered, it will still be in the shrink wrap and if you got an expansion pack, it will be in a separate lil envelope. You can add the extra cards in when you open the shrink wrap. :D 

If you didn't get an expansion pack, that's totally cool! You'll just get either the shrink-wrapped or signed version (sans the pests), depending on your pledge level. 

Please be patient — this is a notice that if you filled out your BackerKit survey already,  your deck should ship in the next 2-3 weeks, barring any unforeseen hiccups. International shipping can take a long time, so hang in there! You will get an email notification once your package is scanned by USPS. If you didn't fill out your BackerKit survey, please do that ASAP (your package will likely be delayed, but better late than never)! I will be closing the BackerKit surveys June 16th, so consider this your one month's notice. You must fill out your BackerKit survey in order to receive your order. There's no other way for me to figure out your address and hook it up to my fulfillment software, so pls fill out your surveys or you may miss out!

I plan on posting a final update once I've finished shipping everyone who has filled out their survey's orders. Also, everyone in the digital-only pledge level should get their digital copies by the end of the month. 

Thanks so much for hanging in there! I know so many Kickstarters get super delayed and I'm really grateful to have begun the fulfillment process. This has probably been the biggest thing I've ever accomplished, and I know it's not perfect by any means (I repeat — I am not a professional publisher!), but I'm elated to be putting my imperfect, limited edition deck out into the world. And it's all thanks to y'all, so cheers to you for your continued kindness.  Now let's all pray to the postal service mail goddesses to shepherd these babies to your door without major incident. 

Phewwwwww! In other news, it's my birthday coming up and my wife and I got to go house plant shopping last weekend, so we've got new little babies that need repotting. Yay!

Heads Up - Charging Credit Cards for BackerKit Orders

Hi Backers!

Just wanted to give you a little heads up that I plan to charge cards for shipping and anything else you purchased through BackerKit tomorrow, 4.27. This charge should appear on your bank statement as HOUSEPLANT ORACLE DECK. Please make sure that you have the correct card information on file. If any issues arise with your payment you’ll receive an email letting your know to correct your payment information.

On Friday, I will lock addresses with a final notice. You'll get an email reminder telling you to make sure your address is correct. 

The cards are in "mass" production currently and are due to arrive at my house (hopefully!!) by mid/late May, barring any unforeseen delays (may Mercury's retrograde please be gentle with me!), at which point I'll start signing and shipping them out to you. 

My pie-in-the-sky GOAL is to have everything in the mail by end of May to meet my initial deadline, but I also want to be realistic. I realize things come up and fulfillment can be really tough when you're a one-person show, so I'm giving myself a little grace and will keep y'all updated.  Shipping will start as soon as I have the decks in-hand, and it may take a few weeks to get everything signed, organized, packed, and out the door, so thank you for your patience! 

I've learned so much from this process so far, and I'm sure there are more learnings to come as I attempt to ship out hundreds of decks from my house. Thank you so much for your support and for bearing with me! You will get a notification once your package is shipped, and I'll do my best to get the decks to you as quickly as I can without burning myself out or letting the myth of urgency crush my soul. 

Wishing everyone a very happy Beltane! I'll be in a holding pattern until the boxes from the printer arrive at my door. Hoping that everything arrives in a timely manner and that nothing is missing from the delivery. Cross your fingers for me! :) 

Last call for order updates!

The last day to make final updates to your order is Weds, April 5th. After this date, I will lock your surveys in BackerKit and charge cards for shipping, pledge upgrades, and pre-orders. You can update your shipping address up until I lock addresses for shipping.

If you haven’t answered your survey yet, if you fill out your BackerKit survey or pay for extra shipping after the April 5th order due date, we’ll still receive your information but your shipment may be delayed.

Thank you all again for being so responsive to answering the BackerKit survey—even though it may not seem like much as an individual backer, you have no idea how tremendously helpful this has been for me when trying to keep track of all ~300 of you!

Once orders are locked (Weds), I'm placing the bulk order with my manufacturer. As soon as the decks arrive, I'll begin shipping them out (hopefully by end of May).

BackerKit surveys are coming!

Hey all!

It's time for me to get finalized manufacturing counts so that I can order the Houseplant Oracle Deck in BULK and proceed with shipping your rewards!

Soon (by end of day Friday), you’ll receive an email from me with a special link to your BackerKit survey, where you can enter your shipping address & pay for shipping. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since I need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

My goal is to begin shipping to you by end of May. Crossing my fingers super hard that I don't run into any manufacturing or freight delays, but hoping we can all be patient with this process.

quick Feb check in!

Hey all! I'm still patiently waiting for my final prototype to arrive in the mail (seems overseas shipping is taking quite a while), but wanted to check in and wish you all a happy Imbolc!

Imbolc is a pagan holiday celebrated from February 1 through sundown February 2 and it marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Things you could do today to celebrate? Plan your garden (!!), eat a nice meal with some friends, light a candle,  weave a cross for st brigid, or wash your feet. :P 

I also wanted to shout out some creators who are raising funds for their amazing enamel pins over on BackerKit. My good friend Carrie's project features these adorable cats and i couldn't help but notice this fantastic plant-themed pin project from KasuCope. So cute! 

Anyway, we're playing the waiting game right now. When the prototype arrives, I will check to make sure the pages printed okay in the guidebook and then I'll weigh it to determine shipping costs. I imagine your BackerKit surveys will hit your inboxes in a few weeks! Thanks for hangin' in there with me. :D <3
