Quick Jan update!

Hello lovely backers! 

My Very Official Copy Editor (ahem, my wife :D) just handed me back the guidebook, fully copyedited. She's much better with spelling and grammar than I am. Truly a super star!

Next steps are to:

1. Apply all of her edits

2. Order a final prototype/sample from my manufacturer to make sure everything looks/feels good in my hands. Then, weigh the final product in order to determine my shipping costs.

3. Send you all the BackerKit survey to get finalized manufacturing counts.

4. Order the hundreds of decks :D! 

5. Ship them out to you upon arrival. 

I'm hoping to have my final prototype ordered by this time next week. Fingers crossed. Thanks for hanging in there and hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! <3

Hi all! I thought I'd check in with all you wonderful backers since it's been a little while. 

Two quick notes: 

1. You'll be getting your bonus guided meditations via email by end of November. I said Fall, so I wanna stick to that deadline. I will post an update when the file is sent out, but expect that by Nov 30th. 

2.  I've decided to wait to send out my BackerKit surveys closer to when I actually plan on fulfilling the project (so, Spring of next year). I'm still on track to deliver before May next year as originally stated on the project page, but with shipping prices (not to mention currencies!) being so volatile at the moment, I think it makes sense for me and for you that I collect addresses and charge shipping closer to when I actually plan on shipping! I hope that makes sense to you too. :) 

Designing the pages for the guidebook is a finicky process and is definitely taking me longer than I expected (I am not a professional book designer!), but that's ok. I'll get there! Making progress and learning lots. 

I was going to offer some plant-themed movie recs, as I find that autumn is the time of year when I'm most likely to watch a flick, but I could only think of Adaptation and The Secret Garden. Feel free to add your favorites plant-themed films the comments!

I hope all of you are able to slow down, divest from urgency when possible, and practice loads of self-compassion this cozy season.

It's been a few weeks, so I thought I'd hit y'all with a quick update.  Currently, I'm recovering from a nasty bout of Covid, isolating and trying to rest. I'm surprised by how slow my brain feels! Truly, I feel like I'm pushing through thick, sludgey dark shadows in order to remember the simplest things like passwords and who sings uptown girl (honestly, i could not remember billy joel's name this morning). 

I'm still working on the guidebook, making lots of progress there, and I'm currently comparing costs for a couple different shipping/fulfillment options. My plan is to send out the BackerKit surveys quickly followed by your guided meditation in the fall. I will post an update here as well once the surveys are about to hit your inboxes — so stay tuned (and thanks for your patience! <3). 

Just as the campaign page says, my goal is to have everything finished and shipped by May of next year (but hopefully sooner). 

In the meantime, if you need anything, my inbox is open! Thanks for letting me take my time so that I can get this as right as I possibly can. <3

Pheewww! We did it! The Kickstarter funding period for the Houseplant Oracle Deck is OVER. Y'all are such incredible backers and supporters, I'm forever grateful.  I'm also very tired right now — it's way beyond my bed time, but I did want to get a quick update up just to thank y'all so much from the bottom of my heart. 

What happens next?

It takes about 2 weeks for Kickstarter to charge cards, transfer funds, etc. etc.  It does look like a fair amount of cards failed or errored, so if you received an email from Kickstarter saying there's been an issue with charging your card, you'll have ONE WEEK to fix your card payment via Kickstarter, so please take care of that asap if you'd still like to receive your deck(s). If you're having issues with Kickstarter's payment processor, feel free to private message me and I'll see what I can do to help.

NOW TO THE FUN STUFF! In the meantime, I'll be working on the guidebook, creating the materials for all of the unlocked stretch goals from scratch (exciting!!), and I'll also be taking a week-long more more less "unplugged" vacation starting next Friday.  lol — I'm definitely feeling ready & thankful for the opportunity to rest. 

When I return, I'll get back to work on finishing the guidebook, finalizing the art for the cards, tightening up the layouts with all of the meanings inscribed on said cards, and then it comes time for copyediting, final prototypes, and finally, we'll be off to printing/production/shipping! 

In a few months (or sooner— depending on when I get my fulfillment plan as finalized as possible for y'all), expect to receive a survey from BackerKit, which is the service I'm using to collect shipping information/confirm your order details/print my postage etc. I'll give you a heads-up before I send the survey so that you can watch for it.  It is important to submit your responses via BackerKit since I'll need this information to ship out your rewards. I can't wait to get these decks into your hands! :D

If you need to change your survey responses, purchase more items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on my BackerKit project page. This page will only start working AFTER I send the BackerKit surveys out, so don't worry about it right now. :)
